Shades of Country

Shades of country takes you on a journey through Yorta Yorta country, exploring the Big River Red Gum Forest and looking out for kangaroos, emu, birdlife and those wild brumby’s. The gum trees throw different shades of colour depending on what time of day it is. The shades of purple can be seen along the tree trunks and through the sky in the afternoon sun.

The symbols that I have used are of the Maloga Hills, traditional camps, central meeting places, river channels and the river. The dot work represents the shades of country and the movement of people and wildlife.
