This painting depicts the pure goodness that autumn has to offer through the changing colours in the environment throughout Boon Wurrung / Bunurong Country. Such as the leaves, plants, colours in the sky and the different shades of light which capture the essence of the underwater world of coral, seaweed, sponges, rocks and shells and sea animals. I have combined traditional dot work with earthy vibrant tones to capture the natural terrain such as sand dunes, and rocks, along with my Maloga (sand ) technique that is applied to create a sense of grounding to Mother Earth. I have used traditional and modern symbols of community, family and people, pathways and traditional dot work to highlight the movement of water, earth and animals in our local environment.
